A Day in the Life at Preschool

Parents are the most important influence in a child’s education. Therefore, Bricks 4 Kidz Nursery & Preschool aims to involve parents in their child’s learning process. Talking to your child about their daily experiences at preschool is a sure way to encourage positive feelings toward learning. Below is an example of the daily routine experienced by children in our preschool program.

7:15 am – 8:00 amWelcome and Free Play

Children meet in the large play area and enjoy free play time on the trampoline, mini jungle gym, and other toys.

8:00 am – 8:45 am Circle Time

Students join their head teacher for circle time where they engage in story time, song and rhyme, and a review of the previous day or week’s lesson theme.

8:45 am – 9:15 amClassroom

Students enter one of the large classrooms and are assigned a desk where they complete worksheets, watch educational videos, and engage in team and group work. ex: Letter F + worksheet + video.

9:15 am – 9:45 amBreakfast/Washroom

9:45 am – 10:15 amArt Room

Students engage in hands-on sensory play relating to the classroom lesson. ex: shaping the letter F with play dough or writing the letter F in a sand/salt tray.

10:15 am – 10:45 amClassroom

Students return to the classroom for math or science lessons. ex: Measuring with LEGO® bricks + worksheet.

10:45 am – 11:15 amSnack/Washroom

11:15 am – 11:30 amOutdoor/Indoor Play

Weather permitting, children spend 30 minutes outside enjoying vigorous and noisy free play on our play structure or in the secured play area.

11:30 am – 12:00 pm Classroom

Students return to the classroom for LEGO® model plan building, art projects, science experiments, or organized sport. ex: Students build the fish LEGO® model plan for today’s letter “F” lesson.

12:00 pm – 12:30 pmPreparation for Departure

Students join all other children in the large play area and prepare for departure.
